Match Report - Hants Regional Div 2SW - 17th July 2004
Lymington III v Hyde

Lymington 3rd X1   283-3
Hyde  132-9

In a weekend that witnessed a record five centurions for our Club, the unlikely top scorer was Nick Lee with a magnificient 167 not out at Woodside Park. Nick played an innings which was full of quality shots, several sixes, several air shots and several near misses. In partnership with Tim Margetston they put on 118 for the first wicket. No bowler escaped his selection of shotmaking. The score rattled along despite the dismisal of Peter Tapper for a duck, which according to the Umpire was an "unplayable delivery". Enter John McGuirk for his first game this year and although a tad rusty displayed several quality shots on his way to a rapid 63. Meanwhile Lee was also scoring at a fast rate and the final total of 283 was always going to be challenging. Nick was not out 167 and received a raptous applause from both sides.

Hyde were always up against it with young Lloyd Scott bowling fast and taking 3-19. Supported by some youthful fielding Hyde were always behind the clock. Chris Nutt with 2-41 chipped away but some brave batting by their young tailenders denied Lymington full points. This was a second win on the bounce which is crucial in our efforts to avoid relegation.
