Match Report - Hants Regional Div 3SW - 3rd July 2004
Lymington IV v Calmore

Side Batting First: Lymington 150ao
Side Batting Second: Calmore 151 for 7

In this battle of the basement dwellers, Lymington got off to their best start of the season, putting on 50 for the first wicket before the dismissal of Steve Coltman (21). Things continued to go well for the home side, and only one more wicket had fallen by the drinks break – that of Damian Jayasinghe (21) – and 100 on the board. The second half of the innings was to be a different story with the batsmen continuing to aid in their dismissal. With the top quartet reaching double figures being completed by Mark Gannaway (40) only one more batsman was to do so as A Hargreaves (4-33) and M Perris (4-23) blowing the lower order away. An extra batting point was eked out by Don Lindsay-Wood, playing his first competitive game in 35 years!

The game was still in the balance, with both teams unaccustomed to the final push for victory, and as 59 for 4 the game was anyone's for the taking, with the combined Iles of Bob (2-28) and Ali (2-36) taking all the wickets at that point. The turning point came in a solid mid-innings partnership between P Lavelle (33) and P Boweing (44), and although both were dismissed near the end by Tim Noble (2-23) enough had been done to give Calmore a first victory of the season.
