Match Report - Hants Regional Div 3SW - 14th August 2004
Swan Green v Lymington IV

Side Batting First: Lymington 84 all out
Side Batting Second: Swan Green 86 for 3

After electing to bat the two senior players – indeed the only two players to have exited their teenage years – pulled rank and opened the batting. Despite a tight spell from Tasker (3-18) the score had progressed to 44 without loss before a flurry of wickets more accurately reflected the difference in league standing between the two sides. With Steve Coltman (33) falling to R Dumphy (4-25) it was left to the youngsters to try and salvage something from the wreck of the innings. Once again it was Stuart Beveridge (18) who looked the most likely, but a target of 84 was never to be enough.

It was not to be a day without some reward for Lymington however as the opening Under-15 spin attack of Tim Noble and Dan Waters acquitted themselves well, although it was Waters who had the success picking up all three wickets to fall as his prodigious spin caused consternation in the home side. The winning runs were knocked off without any fuss by J Sweeney (27no) and D Yates (22no).
