Match Report - Presidents Cup - 25th May 04
Lymington v Burley

Lymington 217 for 3
Burley 154 for 0

Runs galore as Lymo progress to Semis

Lymington sealed their place in the semi-finals of the Presidents Cup with a high scoring victory over Burley. A combination of fine attacking batting, some lacklustre bowling and an absolute road of a wicket contributed to an amazing 370 runs being scored for just 3 wickets in only 36 overs. The lower-league opposition (who admitted to only entering the competition due to an administrative error!) were put to the sword by Peter Tapper (67) and Karl Whatham (102no). Lymington eventually reached an awesome 217 for 3 from their allotted 18 overs. The runs continued to flow after the interval as Burley's Paul Yates racked up an unbeaten century. The stocky newsagent bludgeoned the ball to all parts of the Sports Ground and fully deserved the ton which he reached off the final ball of the innings. Numerous bowling changes failed to bring about a wicket and the plucky visitors ended on 154 for no wicket.
