If you can't make it to The Quarters for Saturday's eagerly anticipated top-of-the-table clash between Lymington and Hursley Park then fear not! The match is due to be featured on BBC Radio Solent's Sportstime programme on Saturday afternoon from 1pm.
Although the station will be mainly following Hampshire's progress in their championship match at Chelmsford (in the highly unlikely event that it goes into a final day), Mike Vimpany will also be broadcasting regular live updates from Lymington's match at Hursley's picturesque ground. There may even be interviews with some of the players involved.
The highly excitable local commentator was clearly thrilled at the prospect of Saturday's mouthwatering encounter: "Forget England versus France, this is the fixture that everyone wants to see this weekend. Just imagine it: 22 flannel-clad gladiators entering the Hursley Coliseum for this titanic struggle between two former giants of Hampshire cricket! Marvelous!"
Vimps revealed that he had planned to recruit Tickle Jenkin as his expert analyser in the commentary box at Hursley, but sadly Tickle has been 'under the doctor' in recent weeks and is unavailable. The BBC have also yet to decide if Bill Frindall or Johnny Jumpers will be invited to do the scoreboard.
