13th Sept - Sunday Summary

Adie's Indian Summer continues
Lymington's first ever visit to Brading saw Adie Hunt continue his fine end-of-season form, although it wasn't enough to force a victory on the windswept Isle of Wight. Following his century against Oxted last Sunday, the stocky all-rounder smashed 85 not out as Lymington totalled an imposing 247 for 6. But the plucky Islanders made a real fight of it and ended just 6 runs short of their target.

After the match there was controversy as the Lymington players flatly refused to talk to the press following the harsh criticism of Geoff Renshaw's bowling during last weekend's defeat at New Milton. Skipper Meg Gannaway took the boycott one step further by refusing to talk to anybody at all during the entire Brading innings, preferring instead to mooch around the boundary watching the trains go by.

Full match report to follow.
