Match Report - Second XI - 9th July 05
Lymington v BAT II

BAT 303 for 6 - Lymington 214 for 9

Lymington 2nds lost by 89 runs

BAT won the toss and had no hesitation in choosing to bat first. A steady start took BAT to 102 for the lose of their first wicket in the 21st over. All the Lymington bowlers found the wicket & fast outfield difficult to keep the runs down. This was certainly not helped by 41 wides. BAT marched on & set a challenging target of 303 for 6 of their 48 overs.

Lymington chase was very quickly dented by the loss of Will Naylor and Neil Trestrail in the first over, both for nought. The score progressed to 34 when Sam Westcott (6) was out. Opening batsman Guy Hayward (53) was then joined by Dave Griffiths (53) who took the score to 127. The run rate required was always increasing. A promising display by Tom Thorp (22), plus support from Stuart Simkins (24), Matt Allen (23not out) & Dominic Norton (10) took the final score to 214 for 9.
