Match Report - Second XI - 20th Aug 05
Lymington v Bramshaw
Lymington 146ao v Bramshaw 203-9
Lymington put up a dismal batting performance and deservedly lost by 57 runs to nearby Bramshaw. The wicket played pretty well given the soaking from early Friday morning storms and although not perfect, was not responsible for an abject batting display after the bowlers and fielders had performed with distinction in restricting Bramshaw to 203. Veteran spinner Peter Tapper wheeled away his 12 overs for 2-31 well supported by Dominic Norton 4-38. The ground fielding was razor sharp but too many wides did not help our cause. Simon King 42 batted well and Peter Tapper with 28 kept the pace moving but very little support elswhere and the very gettable target was out of reach. Delighted to report that Bramshaw stayed for a few drinks which is how it should be.
