Thanks to a magnificient 127 from Jerry Holt and some excellent catching Lymington recorded an emphatic victory by 56 runs at Redbridge Lane. Despite the very early loss of Nick Lee both Holt and Peter Tapper were in fine form punishing anything that was off line. Tapper took his score to 63 before being dismissed and young Scott Tapper helped add 53 before Scott was out for 20. Jerry meanwhile was rapidly approaching his century and with the aid of young Mansu, on his debut, this pair added a quickfire 61 with Jerry smashing 26 off the final over. The final total of 244 was always going to be challenging.
Scott Tapper to a superb catch off Paul Sturmey to start the rot. Helped by Jack Todd and including an amazing catch by Geoff Renshaw the opposition were reduced to 61 for 7. Young spinners Tim Noble and Tom Hayward formed an excellent spin bowling partnership but runs were flowing and the introduction of Mansu ensured no surprises. Their final pair proved to be obdurate but Paul Sturmey finally clean bowled their number 10 and game over. Paul finished with 4-45 and Jack Todd 3-42. A much improve fielding performance and this win will ease any relegation worries.
