Lymington won a pulsating match by the narrowest of margins at Woodside by defeating Woodgreen off the last ball by one wicket. Chasing a difficult target on a poor pitch was always going to be hard work but young Tim Noble batted very sensibly and guided the team to victory. Earlier Woodgreen had been on the receiving end of a spate of full tosses plus wides to help them total 198. Peter Tapper with 3-37 was the only bowler to keep a length although Jim Lowe bowled very tidely. Young Craig Tapper fielded superbly and in full flight brightens up a dull Woodside.
The Lymington reply started indifferently as Nick Lee was bowled early on but Peter Tapper 41 and Dominic DiMaria 32 restored the balance but wickets kept tumbling until Jim Lowe 36 batted very well to keep us in the hunt. However it was left to Tim Noble 15 to expertly guide the team home and Jack Todd scored the winning run in the nick of time.
