Michelmersh and Timsbury v Lymington
New Forest Colts Cricket Association League

Lymington 235 - Michelmersh and Timsbury 244

Lymington rely on Wiltshire's Bat
Lymington lost the toss and were inserted on a plastic wicket which had negative bounce. Batting proved to be difficult on this challenging wicket, an experience that has caught out our seniors in the past. Only Wiltshire(14) was able to get to grips with this acquired technique. M&T bowled accurately backed up with good fielding restricted Lymington to 235.

In reply Lymington had the first two pairs in serious trouble and it was only the arrival of the third pair who adopted a more original approach by flat batting the ball in all directions that swung the game back M&Ts way. Having seen this work the final pair followed suit and passed the Lymington total with an over to spare. Lymingtons bowlers were unfortunate not to have won the game as M&T rode their luck knowing what was required, and ultimately achieving it. Pick of the Lymington bowlers was Sophie Gossage(2-4-1) Adam Welch(3-4-0) Sam Moss(3-5-0) and Ollie Wiltshire(3-15-2)
