Lymington batted first and added 25 for the first wicket, thereafter wickets tumbled at regular intervals. The main contributions in the final total came from opening batsman A Lyndsay-Wood (21), T Jenvey (17) and B Rostand (10). Lymington's final total of 84 - 7 was the lowest so far this season.
With such a small total to defend the bowling and fielding would need to be of the highest order. B Rostand bowling accurately and at pace cleaned bowled M Truell in the first over, then two superb run outs left Pylewell reeling at 15 - 3 after 5 overs. C Smith with a patient (30 Retired) and F Marshall (15) set about rebuilding the innings but always left just a little too much to do at the end, especially as S Devlin bowled 3 economical overs for just 4 runs. Lymington finished worthy winners of this local derby and their superior bowling and fielding proved to be the difference.
