Bashley won the toss and duly elected to bat first on another superb sports ground pitch. Bashley raced to 26 from just 3 overs before the Lymington bowlers began to fight back and stem the flow of runs, A Argle retired for a very accomplished 31. After 16 overs Lymington had bowled themselves back into a very good position, restricting Bashley to a mere 97 from those 16 overs after such a poor start, the next 2 overs possibly turned the match back towards Bashley with the last 2 overs costing Lymington 21 valuable runs.
For Bashley N Lwano (23*) and J Lilley (6*) were responsible for causing the late run feast.
Lymington therefore would need to chase this good target at around 6.5 runs per over from the start. Openers J Gossage (13) and A Lyndsay-Wood (30 Retired) set an excellent platform by adding 41 in the first 8 overs. All the other batsmen then got in and quickly lost there wicket to leave Lymington agonisingly short by 6 runs.Bashley ran out worthy winners on the day inflicting Lymington's first defeat of the season, both teams however would win more games if they could reduce the number of extras conceded, Lymington (34), and Bashley (33), an excellent game played in a good spirit by two of the better U13 teams in the New Forest League.
