On a glorious sunny afternoon the Sports Ground looked a picture – the Premier League Gold standard it is. Lymington won the toss and elected to bat.

The innings started off steadily. Adie Hunt (34) and Simon King (8) opened the batting and the latter was out in the 5th over quickly followed by Keith Dabengwa (7). Dan Wiggins (3) was unable to recapture his form as in the previous home match and at 45 for 3 in the 13th over Lymington had not made the best of starts on a perfect batting track. With the loss of captain Adie Hunt at 69 in the 20th over Bryn Darbyshire (22) and Neil Trestrail (51) repaired the damage and took the score to 93 in the 30th over before Bryn was out caught and bowled. Mark Burrett (11), Christian Pain (2) and Mark Newton (0) all fell cheaply before Trevor Phillips (12 not out) added some useful runs at the end of the innings. The total looked well short on such a good wicket.
Needing to get some early wickets Lloyd Scott (8 overs 3 maidens 0 for 28) and Trevor Phillips (3 overs 0 for 16) were unable to make a breakthrough. Christian Pain (9 overs 0 for 42), Keith Dabengwa (11.1 overs 0 for 36), Mark Burrett (4 overs 0 for 46) and Dan Wiggins (2 overs 0 for 12) coming on for his first bowl of the season also were unable to take any wickets. The Rowledge openers coasted home in the 37th over without any loss of wickets. Their opening batsmen made the comment afterwards "I wish we could bat on this wicket every week!"
This was Lymington's first defeat of the Premier League season and they have now down to 4th place in Division 2.
