Match Report - Second XI - 27 May 06
Hampshire Cricket League - County 1
Fareham & Crofton 257 for - Lymington II 142 for 6
Lymo lost by 115 runs
Lymington won the toss & elected to field at a cold & windy Fareham & Crofton ground.
Although Fareham got a good start, they lost their first wicket on 69 runs, in the 12th over, Lymington fought back well in the middle overs. With 10 overs left of the Fareham innings & the score on 167 for 5, a reasonable target to chase looked achievable. However when their no. 8 batsman scored 56no from only 23 balls, the target reached a more daunting 257, for the loss of 6 wickets after their 48 overs.
Elliott Lindsey-Wood impressed with his bowling, however the honours went to Peter Tapper 12 overs, 2 wickets for 33 runs & Alex Treagus 12 overs 3 wickets for 66 runs.
Lymington's run chase never really got going. Opener Mark Jackson 38 not out, Dave Griffiths 33 & Elliot Lindsey-Wood 21no, were the main contributors in a final total of 142 for 6 after 48 overs.
