Lymington played hosts to a very young and inexperienced New Milton U11 team. Lymington won the toss and invited New Milton to bat, and were quickly in amongst the wickets. Skipper David Cureton 3 overs, 2 wickets for 3 runs only being bettered by Adam Drodge 2 overs 3 wickets for 1 run. K Moors 2 overs, 1 wicket for 5 runs, N Smith 2 overs 1 wicket for 5 runs and Sophie Gossage 2 overs 1 wicket for 14 runs were the wicket takers, ably backed up by Alan Maher and Joe Cartwright. The pick of the New Milton batsmen were G Watts and T Edwards who despite losing 10 wickets managed to haul the team back to 200 where they finally finished.
In reply Lymington batted steadily against determined bowling. D Cureton being the pick with a quickfire 21. A major fact was despite good bowling Lymington only surrendered their wickets twice and so finished on 260. New Milton showed a good spirit and given time will no doubt run Lymington a lot closer.
