Lymington traveled to the picturesque village of Hyde near Fordingbridge where having won the toss they put yde in to bat. It was apparent very early on that the Hyde side, having lost players to the New Forest rep side, and the sevens tourament at Twickenham were struggling. Lymington however, despite suffering from the same events were obviously benefitting from a b team to draw on.
Tight accurate bowling saw Hyde lose a total of 8 wickets and ultimately fail to post a score above 200. A Drodge 2 overs 3 runs 1 wicket, A Maher 3overs 1 run 1 wicket, J Cartwright 2 overs 4 runs 1 wicket, J Orman 2 overs
8 runs 1 wicket and K Moors 2 overs 2 runs were the backbone, but F Mann 3 overs 1 run 2 wickets, and J Roberts 2 overs no runs for 2 wickets both bowled exceptionally.
In reply Lymington set about achieving their target with common sense and control. Drodge(5) and Moors (9) laid a good foundation. The third pairing of Mann (18) and Maher (4) accelerated with a fine display of stroke play, and with Roberts (17) and Orman continuing in the same vain Lymington finished on 271
In all a fine all round performance with every member contributing, and J Quigley demonstrating good hands for his debut behingd the stumps
