Lymington 237 Bashley 260

Plastic Puzzles Lymington
Lymington traveled to Bashley to play the Hawks on the artificial wicket, something Lymington were not looking forward to as they had not played on one all season. Losing the toss Lymington were inserted, and although a A Drodge and K Moors started well, but a late runout pegged them back to 218 after 4, and were the last batsmen to play well on the wicket. The next 12 overs saw tight, accurate bowling, a credit to Bashley, which kept Lymington down to 237 by the close of play. J Bettle (3-0-15-2) C Ansty (3-0-12-1) and H Dathan (1-0-9-1) were the wicket takers, able supported by R Taylor (2-0-6-0) R Vallis (1-1-0-0) and B Boon (3-1-1-0) who strangled the Lymington Batting.

In reply Lymington had Bashley under pressure straight away, with D Cureton (3-0-7-1) and A Maher (3-0-7-0) giving nothing away. J Roberts (3-0-11-0) and J Cartwright (2-0-13-2) kept the pressure on, but then C Ansty (15) and R Vallis took Bashley past the meager Lymington total. All that remained was for B Boon (12) and S Morris to see Bashley home. Bashley deserved to win, so its one all this season.
