Lymington Under 13A 141 for 3 - Lymington Under 13B 35 all out
Lymington Under 13A won by 107 runs
11 year old Nicky Elliott 7 for 7 runs stars in win for the A team
On a cold damp evening at the Sports Ground more akin to a winter rather than a summer sport Lymington A won the toss and elected to bat. Jamie Gossage (30 retired) and Shane Devlin (14) opened the batting and the latter was out caught by Max Williams off the leg-spin bowling of Jo Cartwright (2 overs 1 for 18) then Cameron McKeon (25) batted well before being bowled by Max Williams (3 overs 1 for 23). Aidan Lindsay-Wood (30 retired) played some good shots in his knock before Nicky Elliott (10) who played two lovely boundaries then was unfortunately run out. Matt Vokes finished with 10 not out along with Tim Breach (8 not out). For the B team Sam Moss (2 overs 0 for 28), Adam Welch (2 overs 0 for 14), Kieran Moors (3 overs 0 for 29) and Adam Maher (2 overs 0 for 19) were the other bowlers. The A’s finished on 141 for 3 after 16 overs.
In reply the Lymington B batsmen struggled against the A team bowlers of Ned Parker (2 overs 0 for 3) and Shane Devlin (2 overs 0 for 1) but the star was off-spinner Nicky Elliott with 4 overs 7 wickets for 7 runs who completely destroyed the batting of the B team. Jamie Gossage (4 overs 1 for 13) and Aidan Lindsay-Wood (3.2 overs 1 for 7) finished off the wickets. Jack Roberts (4) and Adam Welch (4) started well but Max Williams (0), Philip Newton (0), Jo Cartwright (5), Louie Ambrose (3). Simon Lowe (0), Kieran Moors (5), Michael Lowe (2), Sam Moss (3) and Alan Maher (5 not out) were unable to put up much defence and were all out for 35. An enthusiastic display by the B team against great odds, Jim Lowe has done well to get 11 youngsters out playing cricket some of whom are still Under 11 against Tony Thorp’s Under 13 A team.
