Lymington U13Bs couldn't find the switch for the floodlights.
Pylewell Park U13 89 Lymington U13B 49
Only through the efforts of Pylewell Park and Graham Marshall could this fixture have gone ahead. Lymington were surprised to discover a clerical error had lead to no wicket being prepared for this match. In stepped Pylewell, offering to host the game, and saving the day.
Pylewell won the toss and duly elected to bat, no surprise there. Things were progressing according to plan until the arrival of Dexter-Smith who scored a quick fire 36ret. In truth this was probably the difference between the sides and certainly was a match winning performance. On retiring normality returned and although steady no other Pylewell batsman made double figures, and when time was called after 16 overs Pylwell had amassed 89 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Moss and Maher picking up 2 wickets a piece, whilst the rest shared one apiece, except Ambrose, who only conceded 4 runs from his 2 overs.
In reply Lymington struggled to score quickly against good accurate bowling with only Drodge (7) and Moors (9) looking settled. However when Lymington failed to find the floodlights switch the game was finally finished in Pylewells favour. A final total of 49 for 8 may seem like along way behind, but given on superb display of batting from Dexter-Smith and poor light for most of their innings Lymington can feel the side made up mostly of U11 players aquitted themselves well.
