Another Lesson For Lymington
BAT U13 21 for 0 - Lymington U13b 20 all out
Lymington traveled to BAT for a game against a side that can call on 7 New Forest Representative players. Sterling work had been done by the BAT groundsman to allow this fixture to go ahead.
Lymington lost the toss and were put in to bat, where they faced an accurate opening pace attack that ripped into them. The first wicket fell second ball, and from then on Lymington were on the back foot. M Williams(7) decided to be positive, but apart from his boundary the young side learned what they need to aspire to in the next 2/3 years so they may compete at this level. BAT bowlers T Hart 3 overs 1 run 1 wicket, S Peters 3 overs 1 run 3 wickets, O Cross 4 overs 1 run 2 wickets and A Tull 3.2 overs 4 wickets for 7 runs.
In reply S Moss 2 overs for 2 runs kept it tight, but then a quick blast from T Arnold(11no) and B Streather(6no) finished the game in quick order.
Lymington need to remember that most of the side are in fact U11, and even U10. This is a learning curve, and almost all the players achieved their personal targets in this match. The future is looking bright.
