On a glorious sunny Sunday morning at Mudeford, captain Will Thorp lost the toss and Lymington were asked to bat. Will Thorp (40 retired) and Elliot Lindsay-Wood (15) opened the batting with the latter being caught with the score on 38 in the 5th over. Tom Hayward (15) batted well until he too was caught which brought in Jamie Winderam (31) who played some lovely shots before he was well run out by a good throw. Will Thorp retired on the compulsory 40 playing some well hit shots. Sam Tombs (3), Tom Hill (0) and Ben Rostand (0) departed quickly before Aidan Lindsay-Wood (7 not out) and Jamie Gossage (5 not out) took the score to 142 for 6 after 18 overs.
Will Thorp (2 overs 0 for 10) and Aidan Lindsay-Wood (3 overs 1 for 6) opened the bowling and kept the Mudeford batsmen tied down. The skipper juggled his bowlers with Jamie Winderam (1 over 1 for 12), off-spinner Tom Hayward (3 overs 2 for 13), Elliot Lindsay-Wood (3 overs 2 for 7), spinner Tom Hill ( 2 overs 0 for 7) and Ben Rostand (1 over 0 for 5) before debutant bowler Jakob Leigh ( 2.2 overs 3 for 9) including a near hat-trick finished off the tail.
The Under 15's continue their unbeaten run and are awaiting notification of their 2nd round cup opponents.
