The 19th Annual Lymington Cricket Club Championship took place at Wellow Golf Club on 18th October 2006. Ten cricketers and four guests joined up on Wednesday afternoon to enjoy the unseasonably warm weather.
After nine holes, it was very much a case of could anybody catch Guy Hayward as he raced around the front nine dropping just five shots. David Coles was within 3 points and Dave Griffiths a further point behind. However, the unflappable Hayward promptly strolled through the next 6 holes in level par to put himself in an unassailable position. Guy's concentration was only broken when he was informed he would be expected to organise next year's event! Guy eventually wrapped up his third LCC Golf title by a margin of seven shots.
After an excellent dinner in the clubhouse, prizes were awarded to Jason Carr who just pipped Richard Bodley-Scott, his journey from St Petersburg, Florida proving slightly further than Richard who now lives and works in Khazistan! Nearest the pin winners were Graham Gingell & Richard Bodley-Scott.
