Michelmersh found batting against the Lymington bowlers difficult from the first over to the last. Despite only losing five wickets the accuracy of the bowling meant runs were hard to come by, and resulted in M & T only setting Lymington 216. F Ambrose (3-2-6-2) was the pick of the bowlers backed up by A Drodge, J Cartwright and C Moors who took a wicket a piece.
Having faced the Lymington bowling M & T might have thought the worst was over, but it was just the precursor to a run feast. A Drodge(19) and C Moors(8) opened the innings in fine form, and L Ambrose(13) and J Cartwright(15) ripped the bowling attack to pieces in their four overs. J Quigley (26) including 5 fours and F Ambrose (32) with 6 fours smashed the ball to all parts leaving M & T wondering what to do next. The final total of 356 is a record for Lymington Pairs cricket and supported with no wickets being lost bode well for the rest of the season.
Michelmersh and Timsbury U11 1 point Lymington U11a 15 points.
