Last game of the league season and Lymington needed a win to secure the league.
Bashley won the toss and decide to bat first. With Lymington missing two of its normal team and playing on an artificial pitch anything could happen... Bashley got off to a slow start with the bat, and the fall of the first wicket in the 4th over from a great catch from J Cartwright. Bashley's B Boon (30) started to up the run rate until he retired. C Banks (20) came to the crease and was hitting the ball with confidence until he was caught by R Lewis. Then all Bashley could do was run singles. Great wicket keeping from stand in K Moors only letting 3 byes go and a great catch off of D Cureton (4overs 14runs 1wicket). Also great bowling from under 11 player L Ambrose (3overs 10runs 1wicket) and F Ambrose (2overs 7runs). A Maher full of confidence took 3 wickets in 4 overs for 23 runs. N Elliott (3overs 13runs) and under 11 J Cartwright (2overs 8runs 1wicket). R Lewis took two excellent catches in the field. Bashley finished on 81-6.
Lymington's J Roberts (17) and under11 A Drodge (22) made a good start keeping up with Bashley's run rate until both of them were caught by J Bettle. By the 12th over Lymington were 6 runs behind the run rate and some good bowling from S Morris kept the run rate down. Lymington's captain N Elliott (16no) and D Cureton (18no) started hitting the ball all around the ground, excellent calling between the two made for a nail biting finish. The 16th over saw Lymington needing 17 runs off the last 3 overs, last over 2 runs required, D Cureton struck a lovely forward drive to win the match and the league.
Well done to all the players who played in the match. Lymington finished on 82-2.
