Mudeford won the toss and elected to bat first at the sports ground. A Welch (3-0-10-0) and S Moss (3-0-9-0) were both unlucky not to be rewarded for their accurate opening spells. The introduction of spin L Perry (3-0-15-0) and S Lowe (3-0-14-0) at both ends allowed H Ennells (14) and J Smith (33ret) to pick the run rate up a little. The introduction of C Haining (3-0-13-2) and L Ambrose (2-0-7-1) put the brakes on when Mudeford should have been accelerating, and their final score of 71 was always going to need good defence to prevent Lymington prevailing.
A Welch (17no) showed he had learnt from previous years, and batted right through the innings to secure a win. F Ambrose (11) hit a quick runs and the arrival of D Cooper (29no) who dispatched the ball to all parts finished the game with overs to spare.
A good all round display and with a target of 4 wins for the season it is a good start for the 'B's
