Langley Manor CC v Lymington CC
At the beautiful picturesque Langley Manor ground the Lymington Under 15 XI commenced the defence of their league championship. Losing the toss but being inserted captain Sam Tombs (24) and Aidan Lindsay-Wood (42 retired) started brightly with some delightful attacking shots before the former was bowled with the score on 60 in the 8th over. This brought in debutant Josh Thacker (20 not out) and with Charlie Kinsella (29 not out) they took the score to 132 for 1 after 18 overs.
In reply the Lymington opening bowlers Aidan Lindsay-Wood (3 overs 2 for 6) and Ben Rostand ( 2 overs 0 for 17) kept the Langley Manor batsmen at bay and the former made an early breakthrough. Josh Thacker ( 2 overs 0 for 15), Jakob Leigh ( 2 overs 0 for 7), Charlie Kinsella ( 3 overs 0 for 8), Nicky Elliot ( 3 overs 0 for 20) and David Cureton ( 1 over 0 for 10) were unable to get wickets but Ollie Wiltshire ( 1 over 1 for 3) picked up one and there were 2 run outs. Langley Manor finished on 94 for 6 after their 18 overs, an encouraging performance by this young team. There is no match next week 13th May and the following week on Sunday 20th May the team are away to Hythe & Dibden.
