Hythe & Dibden CC 55 all out - Lymington CC 175 for 0
On a lovely Sunday morning the Lymington Under 15 XI continued the defence of their league championship. Winning the toss and choosing to bat captain Sam Tombs (40 retired) and Aidan Lindsay-Wood (43 retired) started brightly with Aidan hitting 8 fours before retiring. Teo Grandesville (41 retired) hit 7 fours and one six before retiring and then Sam Tombs retired on reaching 40. It has been a while since the first 3 batsmen have all retired and Charlie Kinsella (20 not out) and George Hayward (16 not out) continued the run rate and Lymington finally finished on 175 for 0 after 18 overs.
Chasing this huge total the Hythe & Dibden batsmen were soon in trouble against the Lymington opening attack of Jakob Leigh (3 overs 2 for 10) and Ben Rostand (2 overs 1 for 5) opened the bowling and both bowled tightly picking up early wickets. Charlie Kinsella (2 overs 2 for 12), Josh Thacker (2 overs 0 for 19) and George Hayward ( 1 over 2 for 2) all bowled well before Max Williams ( 5 balls 2 for 0) ripped out the tailenders. Hythe reached a total of 55 and Lymington picked up maximum points with new boy Jordan McKinstry picking up a good catch and Michael Lowe fielding well.
The next league match is at home at the Sports Ground at 10.30am on Sunday 27th May against Sway and the preliminary round of the Under 15 cup against Alderholt is to be played at 6.30pm on Tuesday 29th May away at Alderholt.
