Fawley needed to win this match in order to be certain of the play off against the North winners. Lymington batted first and openers Sam Tombs (41 retired) and Aidan Lindsay-Wood (5) started cautiously before the latter was bowled. George Hayward (27) batted well before he was out caught which brought in Ben Rostand (4) who was bowled. Jamie Gossage (3) in his first match of the season was bowled and then Josh Thacker (2) was run out with Jakob Leigh (2) bowled Lymington were losing wickets without increasing the scoring rate. Max Williams (3 not out) and Nicky Elliot (3 not out) eeked a few more runs and Lymington finished on 110 for 6.
Fawley lost an early wicket but then recovered against the Lymington opening attack Aidan Lindsay-Wood ( 4 overs 2 for 25) and Ben Rostand ( 1 over 0 for 17) which put them on track for victory but Nicky Elliot (4 overs 1 maiden 2 for 19) and Josh Thacker (4 overs 0 for 16) pegged them back. Dan Cooper (2 overs 1 for 16) and George Hayward ( 3 overs 1 for 12) took vital wickets as Fawley closed in the Lymington total. However they fell agonizingly 4 runs short but seemed to be happy at securing enough points to win the league.
Lymington Under 15's defence of the league title floundered because of the weather and losing to Totton & Eling CC and Bashley CC the former was a case of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
