Bashley 214 Lymington 222

In this top of the table clash Bashley hosted Lymington and elected to bat first on their artificial wicket. Two very different styles were visible in each team. Bashley went for their shots, scoring runs quickly, but then paying the penalty when the shot resulted in a wicket, whilst Lymington looked to keep it tight, only conceding 2 wides in their 16 overs. On the day Lymington seemed to gain the upper hand restricting Bashley to 214 with only Sam (13) making double figures. Finn Ambrose (3-1-5-3) and Asa Drodge (2-0-2-2) were the pick of the bowlers, with Edward Collison, Stanley Paxton and Max McGrigor all taking a wicket a piece.

Lymington plan was not to lose wickets, due to not being used to the artificial wicket, and just run safe singles. After 8 overs and 2 partnerships everything was going according to plan with the score already on 221. Given that the next two partnerships were the more experience pairings Lymington were confident of controlling the match from here in. Someone should have told Bashley who dismissed both partnerships twice. Ollie(3-0-7-3) was the pick of the bowlers, and made sure that it was a close game, although Lymington finished on 222, it was very close, and worthy of the top of the table clash.

Bashley 1 point Lymington 12 points.
