Lymington lost the toss and were asked to bat – Stanley Paxton (2) and Edward Collinson (6) batted cautiously and put on 21 in their allotted 4 overs. George Hunter (-8) and Gavin Miller (-9) were dismissed twice each and at the end of their 4 overs the score had reduced to 210.
Jack Jowett (3) and Asa Drodge (3) were not dismissed in their 4 overs and the score moved upto 224 after 12 overs. The final pairing of Finn Ambrose (23) and Henry Collinson (-9) who shared with a Calmore player due to the non-arrival of a Lymington player – they took the score to 243 after 16 overs. Finn hit five boundaries in his innings.
In reply Calmore batted sensibly and were only dismissed once against Lymingtons 6 times ( 1 dismissal equals deduction of 5 runs). The Lymington bowlers bowled well but were unable to take wickets with Finn Ambrose ( 3 overs 1 for 15) getting the only wicket and Asa Drodge (2 overs 0 for 11) Gavin Miller ( 2 overs 0 for 15), George Hunter (2 overs 0 for 13), Edward Collinson ( 1 over 0 for 4), Jack Jowett ( 2 overs 0 for 10) and Stanley Paxton ( 2 overs 0 for 7).
Stanley Paxton and Edward Collinson shared the wicket-keeping duties. It is hoped to have more friendly matches to give these players more experience of playing in a match although they practice regularly there is nothing like match experience.
