Match Report - Second XI -  2 June 07
Hampshire Cricket League - County 1

Portsmouth & Southsea 185 for 1 v Lymington 184 for 8

Portsmouth & Southsea won the toss & elected to field first on a slightly damp wicket.

Batting proved to be hard work but Mark Jackson (19) & John McGuirk (27) made a steady start before McGuirk retired hurt with a pulled hamstring. Neil Trestrail (34) & Dave Griffiths (27) tried to push the score along, Peter Tapper made 29 before he also pulled a leg muscle & required a runner. At tea Lymington thought they'd set a reasonable target given the wicket.

Portsmouth & Southsea started their innings and soon lost their 1st wicket. However that was the last wicket to fall and on an increasingly dry and improving wicket the runs started to flow. Dew (74no) & Porta (78no) saw them home with 20 overs to spare. Sixteen year old Tom Hayward was the pick of the bowlers, although Scott Tapper was the sole wicket taker.
