Match Report - Second XI -  11 Aug 07
Hampshire Cricket League - County 1

Alton 2nds 260 for 5 v Lymington 114 all out

Another hot Saturday, Lymington loose the toss & are in the field.

Off to a bad start, as the new ball gets lost in a hedge after only 5 overs. Lymington battled well, especially Martin Gregory's opening spell of 7 overs 1 for 19. However the score at tea was 260 for 5, which didn't seem out of reach given the good wicket and fast outfield. The wicket takers for Lymington were Martin Gregory 2 for 63, Peter Tapper 2 for 36 and Alex Treagus 1 for 45. Young Tom Hayward bowled 11 overs at the end and finished with 0 for 63, which given the lack of wickets taken was a good effort.

Lymington's batting in reply was very poor. Only Jim Stevenson (22), Dave Griffiths (41) & Ian Nicholls (15) managed to get into double figures. The last wicket fell with the total on 114.
