Joe Quigley was Lymington's hero as the Under 11s clinched a New Forest league and cup double thanks to a nailbiting 3 wicket win over New Milton at Langley Manor. Chasing Milton's 82 for 6, Lymington suffered a mid-innings batting collapse and a defeat looked on the cards until Quigley stepped up to the mark and turned the match around with an unbeaten 28.
The victory means that Lymington lost just one match all season, and that to the eventual Hampshire Cup winners Portsmouth. Many congratulations to Lee and his team. Match report

Sunday 22nd July 2007
The 2007 colts league play-offs and league presentations were held at Lymington Sports Ground which after all the rain was in excellent condition showing the value of the club’s covers and the sun that shone dried up any moisture on the square.
The Under 13 play-off was between Lymington CC the South section winners and Totton & Eling CC (formerly BAT CC) the North section winners. The umpires for the match were Trevor Longman and Luke Jerram from Langley Manor CC. Lymington won the toss and elected to bat and were dismissed for 53 in the 20th over.
Totton & Eling batted cautiously and Lymington picked up wickets but the former edged closer to the winning total which they achieved off the 3rd ball of the 20th and final over. NFCCA committee member Trevor Longman presented the trophies to the winners and losers.
Other presentations then took place with former Hampshire player Lee Savident now with Totton & Eling CC presenting the Under 9 league winners shield to Bashley (Rydal) CC.and the Under 11A shield to Lymington CC. The Under 11B shield went to Farley CC who beat Lymington Under 11B to the title by .03 of a point in the final game between the 2 sides.
Then the Under 15 play-off took place between Fawley CC the South section winners and Paultons CC the North section winners. The umpires were Mike Hayward of Hyde CC and Tony Wharton of Lymington CC. Fawley CC batted first and were soon in trouble against an accurate attack by the Paultons opening bowlers. Fawley were eventually dismissed for 53 and the Paultons openers put the game beyond doubt and were only separated with not many runs to get winning by 9 wickets.
The trophies were presented by Mike Hayward (Treasurer of the NFCCA) and the man of the match was awarded to Storm Anning of Paultons CC for his bowling.
Tony Wharton (Vice Chairman of the NFCCA) thanked Anne Craft the new Secretary of the New Forest Colts Cricket Association who has taken over from Kevin House for organising the successful presentations and play-offs.

Lymington Under 11's dreams of a second consecutive Rosebowl appearance were dashed last night when they were defeated by a talented Portsmouth side in the Hampshire regional play-off at Woodside. Chasing the visitors' 100 for 7 Lymington were always just behind the run rate and eventually fell some 20 runs short. But it was a great effort from Lee Moors' team who are still in with a shout of a New Forest league and cup double. Despite the defeat, Lymington could at least boast the best piece of fielding of the match - a stupendous diving catch by Chris Haining that Paul Collingwood would have been proud of!

Lymington Cricket Club are delighted to announce that they have been awarded ClubMark. This is a form of kitemarking that recognises sports clubs with junior sections and that LCC is a safe and friendly environment for the purpose of playing and introducing youngsters to the game.
Our Club has been invited to a presentation at The Rose Bowl on Wednesday 29th August. We have been asked to bring an U-11 team to take part in a Kwik Cricket demonstration on the outfield prior to the Pro40 floodlit game against Warwickshire.
We will be presented with our ClubMark certificate during the mid-innings break. Our thanks to Peter Tapper who has spent many hours working to achieve this prestigious award including a mountain of documentation. |

The New Forest Colts cricket season commences this week and Lymington CC are running 6 sides which are Under 9, 11A, 11B, 13A,13B and 15. The club also welcomes the newly qualified coaches at ECB Level 1 Lee Moors, Mark Newton and former colt 17 year old Scott Tapper.
Jim Lowe is completing his ECB Level 2 and will join existing Club coaches ECB Level 3 Dave Gelling and ECB Level 2 Trevor Phillips, Tony Wharton and Adie Hunt and ECB Level 1 Mark Gannaway. Tom Thorp will be taking his ECB Level 1 as he was unable to attend the recent course.
A recent influx of new colts from local schools has meant that a few parents are helping with the coaching as the numbers on a Monday and Tuesday evening are averaging over 60 children. The club thanks those parents that are helping with the administration and paperwork which is now needed for the club’s ECB Clubmark status.
After last years very successful season with all the age groups winning their respective leagues but no cup triumphs, the coaches are hoping that it will achieve even more success this season. The Under 11’s led by Jim Lowe playing at the Rosebowl in the Hampshire final being one of the highlights.
