Deadly duo do it again
Lymington 117-2 Bashley 91-6
Lymington recorded their third win in a row, and were once again indebted to Aidan Lindsay-Wood and Charlie Kinsella for their important contributions in this 26 run victory over Bashley at a damp Sports Ground.
Lindsay-Wood's classy 40 not out gave Lymington a decent start, and this was capitalised on by Kinsella (35no) and Ollie Wiltshire (20no) whose late blows helped Lymo to 117-2 from their 18 overs. Harry Anstee was Bashley's only successful bowler, clean bowling the unfortunate George Hayward for a duck, while the combination of a mid-pitch mix-up and a sharp piece of fielding accounted for the run out of Josh Thacker for 7.
Although Lindsay-Wood and Hayward produced their usual miserly opening spell, they couldn't prize a wicket from the Bashley opening pair of Anstee and Ali McLoughlin who soon began to open their shoulders. With Bashley having reached a promising 51 for no wicket from 10 overs, it was Lindsay-Wood and Kinsella who once again changed the face of the game in just two deliveries, the former producing a superb throw to run out McLoughlin for 15, and then holding on to a sharp catch to dismiss Anstee for 27 the very next ball - off the bowling of Kinsella, naturally! Charlie Banks (16no), Josh Davies (6), Ryan Taylor (7) and Simon Morris (5no) all gallantly attempted to up the run rate, but with Lymington taking further wickets through Kinsella, Adam Drodge and Joshes Bowring and Thacker, Bashley's innings ended 26 runs short on 91-6.
