Lymington 209 for 9 OTs and Romsey 124ao

After being washed out the previous week and against bottom team Purbrook it was vital that Lymington beat their nearest rivals OTS & Romsey to cement their place in the top 3. Lymington batted first and soon lost Jamie Harvey for 0 which meant that Dave Griffiths was joined by the in-form Dai-Morgan Rushbrook at the crease. These 2 batted well in tandem with Rushbrook being the more aggressive as he moved effortlessly past a 4th consecutive half century, the score moved along to 123 for 1 with 18 overs to go and a big score looked on the cards. The introduction of Max Smith paid instant dividends for the home team as he tempted the Lymington batsmen into playing big shots which resulted in 3 batsmen being caught on the boundary, Griffiths included in the 3 for a well made 40. Rushbrook meanwhile continued into the 90s before gloving a ball to slip for an excellent 94, the dismissal of Rushbrook led to Lymington having to play more cautiously with runs accumulated in singles rather than boundary's. Ollie Kelly 15 and Adie Hunt 12 moved the end score on to a rather disappointing 209 for 9 when 250 looked very much achieveable.

With dark clouds hovering above Lymington needed a good start in the field to keep OTS & Romsey below their scoring rate and after starring with the bat Rushbrook then made a complete mess of the OTS & Romsey top order by taking the first 4 wickets for 34 runs from his 10 overs. Christian Pain then removed the dangerous Charlie Forward for a hard hit 32 leaving the hosts innings in tatters at 83 for 7. Lymington's ground fielding has been much improved over the second half of the season and this was highlighted by 2 excellent run outs, one to Ed Freeman and the other to Craig O'Shannessy and with Ollie Kelly also taking 2 wickets Lymington ran out comfortable winners by 85 runs.
