Lymington 159 for 6 - New Milton 149 for 8

Lymington traveled to old rivals New Milton in the first round of the Southern Electric Cup keen to progress to the 2nd round to face Bashley. Lymington batted first with Dai-Morgan Rushbrook and Dave Griffiths scoring 72 for the first wicket before Rushbrook fell for a swift 41 from 28 balls, Griffiths fell the following ball for 25 and Lymington needed to rebuild. Bryn Darbyshire played with typical aggression and pushed the score past 100 before going on to score 57no from 40 balls to take Lymington to a competitive 159 for 6 from their 20 overs, Eric Linge being the pick of the New Milton bowlers taking 4-21 from his 4 overs.

Lymington struck a big blow with the 3rd ball of New Milton's innings when O'Shannessy bowled the dangerous Fotheringham for 0. New Milton kept up with the scoring rate through Lee and Ryan Beck, 26 and 33 respectively to leave them 76 for 4 at the halfway point needing 84 to win. Tommy Barton removed Steve Taylor for 21 and bowled with good control and pace to take 3-30 from his 4 overs. O'Shannessy returned to add 2 more wickets to his personal tally and finish with 3-22 leaving New Milton 10 runs adrift of lymington's score.
