Mudeford won the toss and put Lymington in to bat first. With Mudefords tight opening bowling attack Lymington were restricted to start with but in form batsman J Lewis (30 retired) who hit 5 fours and retired very quickly started the runs needed by Lymington. J Cornwell (13) was unlucky to be run out from a direct throw from the keeper to the other end. C Moors (24) played some fantastic shots including an excellent lofted drive for 4 to be unfortunately caught in covers. J Mcquoid (13) and A Drodge (14) were the only other batsman to reach double figures. Lymington ended on 117 for 6.
A Drodge (4-11-2) opened the bowling and a first wicket maiden over Lymington looked confident in the field. J Lewis (2-10-2) and J Mcquoid (4-17-3) bowled really well and excellent catches in the field by J Lewis, J Quigley and top catches of the night J Elliott restricted Mudeford to 87 for 8. Only three of Mudefords batsman made double figures J Ferrett (12) J Stubbington (14) and D Elson (11 not out).
Lymington and Mudeford meet next week at Mudeford for the semi final of the New Forest cup. Good luck to both teams.
