Lymington, keen to avenge an earlier league defeat by Totton, were given a magnificent start by opening batsmen Adam Drodge and Will Entwhistle who rattled up 50 in less than 8 overs. Drodge, in particular, was in splendid form, finding the boundary seven times before retiring on 33. New batsman Felix Ambrose reached his retirement figure even quicker - his 31 including a big six over square leg. Entwhistle's slightly more watchful innings was eventually ended on 28 by E Clayton whose four over spell gleaned fine figures of 4-27. With the groundwork done by the top three, Jason Lewis (4), Louis Ambrose (13), Joe Quigley (6no) and James Cornwell (6) were all able to strike some lusty blows as Lymington ended their 20 overs on an imposing 137 for 5.
Requiring almost 7 runs an over, Totton's reply received an immediate setback with Jason Shorto bowled by Louis Ambrose in the first over of the innings. Ambrose then took another wicket to leave Totton struggling on 13-2 from 5 overs. Not to be outdone by his big brother, Felix Ambrose grabbed 2 wickets as Totton slipped further behind the run rate. W Moore (23) and Clayton (19no) gamely tried to revive their team's hopes with a stand of 29, but Connor Moors put the icing on the Lymington cup cake with two wickets for no runs as Totton's innings ended on 80-7. Louis Ambrose finished with fine figures of 3-10 while brother Felix's 2 wickets and earlier 31 runs deservedly won him the man of the match award. Lymington's fielding was superb throughout, typified by an excellent catch by Hugo Chandler.
The victory capped another fine summer for Lymington Under 13s with Lee Moors' well-drilled side losing just once all season.
