After winning the toss Lymington captain Neil Trestrail had no hesitation in batting on a beautiful summer's day. Lymington openers Mark Jackson and Chris Warde played positively and took the score along to 80 before Jackson was out LBW for 32 Warde soon followed for 48 which left Neil Trestrail and Tom Thorp to rebuild the innings. Trestrail departed for 21 while Thorp was working the ball around the field nicely on his way to 47, further contributions from James Stevenson and Simon Naylor pushed Lymington's total up to 211 for 9 after 45 overs.
The Hamble openers came out all guns blazing and were soon scoring at better than a run a ball. The introduction of spin made an immediate impact as Nick Elliott removed Fielder for and aggressive 39, further wickets fell to Alex Treagus 2-26 as Hamble found the going increasingly tough. Simon Naylor returned to take 3 wickets in 3 overs and Warde also chipped in with 2 wickets as Hamble were bowled out for 142 to give Lymington a third consecutive victory.
