Hampshire Cricket League - South West 4

Lymington 99 for 1 - Alderholt 96 all out

On the last game of the season Lymington needed to win to claim the league title and get a well deserved promotion. Lymington's skipper won the toss and decided to put Alderholt in to bat.

With Lymington's opening bowler L Dimaria injured, he bowled his ten overs off a few paces and still claimed two wickets for 17 runs. P Tapper had a good days bowling claiming 4 wickets for 10 runs and taking an excellent catch in the slips. Young T Noble took 3 wickets with L Dimaria also taking great catches to scuttle Alderholt for 96 off 35 overs. Only two batsman reached double figures G Denham (28) and M Race (26). Lymington only needed to keep their nerve and continue doing what they had done all season to win the title.

D Jayasinghue (51 no) and T Beer (30) made a rapid start and unfortunately lost the first wicket in the 9th over although on a score of 79. T Noble (4 no) joined D Jayasinghue to finish the game off in the 12th over. Big cheers went up and after a hard season Lymington gained promotion and are league winners.

Thanks to all the players, Nita for teas and Ronnie for preparing such a good wicket at Woodside.
