Lloyd's first season with Hampshire

Phew, it's hot work out there

This years Hampshire under 15 side have performed creditably aside that is from a couple of batting collapses which cost them games. They are through to the quarter final of the County Cup and finished mid table in Division 1 of the County Championship.

The teams strength lies very much in bowling and high quality fielding, batting has been somewhat of a problem area, nobodies had a big score all season. Lloyd has played in 7 games so far, he's the newest of the 6 fast bowlers in the squad although the only one who regularly looks for and gets significant outswing. With a couple of spinners in the team the captain has never been short of bowlers and the seamers are certainly not over bowled, the longer standing players taking the bulk of the overs bowled. New members have to prove themselves over time.

Hampshire's fielding is superb, much better than any of the other County teams on show. Many of the players have been in the squad for years and they certainly lead the way in fielding skills, the more recent team members standard lagging behind somewhat. Lloyd's taken a couple of decent catches, dropping none.

Lloyd's bowling performances have been of a very high standard getting outswing and inducing swing and misses time after time. His overall bowling figures are: 7 wickets at an average of 14 runs per wicket going at 2.8 runs per over, getting some top batsmen out in the process.

Although Lloyd's batting has improved immensely this year and he's averaging 35 in senior cricket batting opportunities for the County have been next to none thus far.

Lloyd bowling in Hampshire's last game v Berkshire, he finished with figures of 1 for 12 off 5ovs
